Hi, I think I can also manage with using a beforeSave function (as I was already questioning that mysefl).
As for filling in the data automaticly, that was exactly the idea behind it :) I have a couple of tables that users can add/edit information from, so I want a 'generic' solution that works without any 'manual' work (and I did a similar thing in the current live version of the my website). On the subject of created / modified fields, I already have tables containing created_by/on & updated_by/on from the current live version of my website (not build with CakePHP). And at this point, I really don't want to change any of the tables (even if it is just a field name). The current (old) website is still running (data gets added to it frequently, etc) and I 'import' the live data into the development website on a regular basis to experiment with. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
