Don´t feel lonely Langdon ;),

I don´t know what info you have already tried out. For myself, a long
time ago, the problem turned out to be having a "_" in the URL -
apparently IE doesn´t work well with none alphanumeric characters in
URLs.

What OS are you running? You´ll probably find that this is IE at it´s
best and not a Cake problem; if you find your cause I´d be interested
to know what it is.
