You can do this using model associations. For example:
class Post extends AppModel {
var $name = 'Post';
var $belongsTo = 'Category';
}
class Category extends AppModel {
var $name = 'Category';
var $hasMany = 'Post';
}
As long as your posts table has a category_id field, it should just
work.
