I'm not sure if this is the correct solution but I have experienced sometimes that the page is just loading and nothing happens. The solution was to change the max memory in php.ini. Default is 8M I think. I just inserted a zero so it became 80M and then it works. I'm not sure if it's the same thing but it is worth a look!
