It's a pity that a difference of opinion grew into a bit of flaming. Leaving the emotions to one side, I think it's a normal sort of question to have asked.
I reckon that had the relavent original post been phrased as a question or a suggestion instead of a statement (which is how it reads to me) all of this bad feeling could have been avoided.
