I have a couple questions. 1. I have a company table that holds a company name, databasename, databaseuser, and password. When a person tries to login they use 3 fields. Company Name, Username, and Password. I look up the Company Name record in the company database and if it exists I continue on to check the username and password against the customers database using the settings in the company database. Once I've established a connection to the specific database I store the settings in session to use throughout my application. How could I do something similar using Cake?
This brings me to the next question as well. 2. I want my login page to appear at http://domainname.com/ (which I can currently override by placing a home.thtml file in my /app/views/pages directory). Which action can I use to handle this for my login? Is this setup doable using Cake? (I'm sure it is but I better check which is the best way to do this). I'm finding the MVC baking extremely easy and straightforward but something that's just a little off the course like this is hard to figure out. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
