I run it on my iBook and didn't have any problems getting it up and running.

If you can't alter your http.conf file, then there is some work to be
done in the config files but it's really minor.  The manual has
instructions on how to do this, it's not really that hard.  Sure, it
*looks* intimidating but once you do it you'll wonder what the big
deal is.
