I thought that javascript and html helpers were loaded by default in CakePHP. It seems that with the latest release (1.1.8) that if I don't have the $helpers array defined they aren't loaded. But as soon as I define anything for the $helpers array they are loaded by default.
I am running PHP4 shared.
