In beforeFilter() in AppController it can be used :
$this->{Inflector::singularize($this->name)}->findAll();
$this->{Inflector::singularize($this->name)}->read();
$this->{Inflector::singularize($this->name)}->query();
etc
or
$this->{Inflector::singularize($this->name)}->myfunction();
with myfunction() defined in AppModel :
function myfunction() {
$this->query();
}
No $uses, no headache.
