I am in the process of evaluating CakePHP to use for a new project.
I've gone throught a couple of the tutorials and thus far like what I
see. I do have a couple of concerns/questions concerning the URL's
used. The first is probably related to mod_rewrite and perhaps a
setting in my .htaccess file. After having uploaded the package to my
web server if I go to www.mysite.com/cake I receive a page not found
error. Although going to www.mysite.com/cake/index.php the page
displays. Is that how the system is supposed to function or simply a
configuration setting?

The second question, is having gone through one of the tutorials as I
navigate through the pages the URL contains
"CAKEPHP=5e72a805c7b13eec9a42dedbec34af86" is this always gong to be
the case or is it likewise a configuration setting?

thanks,
