Hi fellow bakers,

I have a general question. I am currently developing a very large web application using CakePHP latest stable build (1.1.8.3544) and I am now wondering on the proper procedure for updating Cake's core with future stable releases. Particularly:

* When (approximately) will 1.2 stable (a.k.a 2.x as I've seen) be released?

* Will there be significant changes to a cake based application's core (not Cake's core) ? For example: Controller class is now called BaseController :)

* Will there be a documentation / manual to help upgrade 1.1.x based cake apps into 1.2 ?

Basically I am wondering how to prepare for upgrades. I know almost every baker is closely trying to avoid the "temptation" of touching cake's core, but I've also seen some frameworks that gave such big turns with their upgrades that was almost impossible to upgrade your installation without having to re-do large chunks of code.

Thanks!
