Thanks for the attention - here it goes

In the security fix release - Components were suddenly not available
in the contructor of app_controller.php of an application - this was
not due to removal of any deprecated function but due to moving of the
said code outside - I can provide exact diffs if you want.

Then in the CakePHP 1.1.8.3544 - Doing requestAction() on a plugin
twice in the same function/method started giving a fatal error - We
traced it to code changes in dispatcher.php and a possible bug in
loadController function - this was posted at
http://groups.google.com/group/cake-php/browse_thread/thread/7bf93ea9c79fe57e/
but it got missed by everyone...

I am now curious as to where we did not play by the rules in the above
two cases :)
