Use 1.3.8, which is the latest stable release. I don't think you want to get
into the situation where you developed using the in-progress version 2 branch,
and are then ready to publish your site, but version 2 is not ready for release
yet. Or version 2 changes substantially between the time you start using it and
the time you're ready to publish. Or version 2 has bugs, because it's not done
yet. There is no announced date for version 2 to be completed. Stick with the
latest stable version.
