I agree with the helper approach if its a helper array. But there is not enough info about the array nature. As you know maintaining the code is also somthing you should think about so if the nature of the array is pure "data nature" I'll advice even writing a table and a model ... Its easy to maintain an application when you know that all your data is in the database for example and you don't need to start looking for data arrays all over code. Maybe putting the array in the appModel.
