I am looking to resign dbznow.com in CakePHP keeping a similar path structure. I wouldn't like to copy-paste code for the English and Dutch part for polls, quiz and am planning to use i18n for that and prints with __.
However both the /nl/ and /en/ should have their own template that both have seperate menu's and both have different contain available in the native language. Most websites are designed to have every page translated in all languages, but that is not the case for me. I have separate contact for the English and Dutch part of the site, so translation files wouldn't work well for that and currently most PHP code is used on both parts of the sites, simply copy-pasted and with translations in the PHP code. - How can I map from /contact to /en/contact in a way that the ContactController will use English views/i18n in that case and will use Dutch ones on /nl/contact? - Can I still use an edited version of the pages controller to serve static content files located in /app/views/nl_pages and /app/views/ en_pages so http://www.dbznow.com/en/dragons.html (or without .html) would show a page about dragons? I have looked a lot on the internet, but unfortunately most tutorials are based on the idea of having identical content in different languages. -- Our newest site for the community: CakePHP Video Tutorials http://tv.cakephp.org Check out the new CakePHP Questions site http://ask.cakephp.org and help others with their CakePHP related questions.
