bad form calling a class .center. Classes are supposed to describe the element
in some way.

what would happen if your .center ended up with massive font and background
colour and left aligned?

div.center {
text-align: left;
font-size: 17px;
background-color: #CCC;
}

the .center class name seemed sensible initially but now makes no sense at all.

you dont need to add a class to it. you can just use the form element and style
that.

form {
text-align:center;
}

or

form {
width: 600px;
margin:auto
}

much less confusing for the next guy who works on your site.
