you should always use the full array syntax and also add last=>true to
every rule.
example:
'email' => array(
'email' => array(
'rule' => array('email', true),
'message' => 'valErrInvalidEmail',
'last' => true
),
'unique' => array(
'rule' => array('isUnique'),
'message' => 'valErrEmailExists',
'last' => true
),
),
