I used an image manipulation component as described in chapter 6 of the book "Rapid Application Development With CakePHP" by Jamie Munro. It worked fine in CakePHP 2 with the usual change at the top of the component declaration: class ImageManipComponent extends Component
I also added some code to delete the image file if it already exists, before saving the new file... and doing the same for the thumb image file. It might be worth your while getting this book. The PHP for doing this stuff is fairly straightforward. -- Our newest site for the community: CakePHP Video Tutorials http://tv.cakephp.org Check out the new CakePHP Questions site http://ask.cakephp.org and help others with their CakePHP related questions.
