Most (all?) of his demos are with cake 1.x..  so working them with 2.x is a 
very good way to practice and learn.

www.google.com will be a good friend also and your best friend will 
probably be patience and time.. allow yourself 2-4 weeks before starting to 
get into it I would say, especially if you never worked with a MVC 
framework.
