(open source) software is always evolving.. features will be added, bugs will be found. That's how it goes.
If you want an all-in-one solution (authentication+authorization) get othAuth, it's easy to set up. if you want a solution that only focuses on secure authentication, so you can combine it with an other authorization solution (like cake's acl) in order to achieve a more advanced, but also more complex system, i would recommend dAuth.
