After discussing the issue with qrok on irc,
try to change the perspective:
$ships = $this->Ship->find('all', [
'conditions' => ['Ship.user_id' => 5],
'contain' => [
'ShipComponent' => [
'ShipSlot' => [
'ShipType' => [
'conditions' => [
// 'ShipComponent.ship_id = Ship.id'
]
],
]
]
]
]);
This will result in more than one query again, as that is just the way
cakephps orm is working, but does not rely on the additional condition...
