Assuming I understand it correctly, then you want to query your posts, so
that any event_date having a month = 12 and a day = 29, not taking into
account the year, must be found. :)
Based on the above I would see if this is possible:
$this->Post->find('all', array('conditions' => array(
'MONTH(Post.event_date)' => 12,
'DAY(Post.event_date)' => 29
)));
Would that work for you? Haven't tested it as I do not have a 2.x version
running.
