After taking a quick peek at api.cakephp.org for both the 1.1 branches
and 1.2 branches, I have to agree that the documentation for 1.2x is
not as good as the documentation for 1.1x.

However, 1.2 hasn't been labeled as "stable" so I imagine that the API
documentation for that could change before it's considered stable.

Sure, this is a copout but the fact still remains: expecting code to
be labeled as "development" to be stable, feature-rich and properly
documented is setting yourself up for failure. I used to be a big
believer in using cutting-edge, developer releases for code. Now, I
only do that for my personal projects. For stuff where I am getting
paid, I stick with stable releases because those *usually* come with
enough documentation to answer most of my questions.

On a related note, I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who sometimes
drops down into the code itself to answer questions I have. ;)
