Dear friends/bakers,
Since I discovered CakePHP a week ago, I've been scanning the web thoroughly for articles and tutorials related to either the CakePHP framework or MVC thinking in general. I've come across a few good one's, which I gladly share: http://www.slash7.com/articles/2005/2/22/mvc-the-most-vexing-conundrum http://www.thinkingphp.org/2006/10/26/modeling-relationships-in-cakephp-faking-rails-throughassociation/ http://cake-php.blogspot.com/2006/09/21-things-you-must-know-about-cakephp.html ... but I still miss one with the proposed title: "Building a website using CakePHP" The tutorial I seek for (which might exist?) should focus on: -> Helping "old-school" PHP web developers migrate to the CakePHP framework -> Explain how a website could/should be structured using CakePHP i.e. Elements, requestAction, renders, views, layouts and so on .... .... and if there are contradictory theories: -> Explain the pros and cons of each -> Tips & tricks in web developing with CakePHP, i.e. how to speed up work using bake.php etc. Of course, I am well aware that there is'nt a "single, divinely gifted, website example" but I still think many would benefit from an example that is'nt limited to just a blog etc. I picture a website with some static content, some dynamic. With the old-school include() replaced with something elegant and structured. Header, menu, dynamic content, different layouts, database relations, sub-pages, re-usable elements, footer and so on! I would be glad if you made contributions to my idea about the tutorial in this thread or, even better, recorded/wrote one! thank you --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
