If using CakePHP 1.2 also explore the possibility of using behaviours

And I don't know if it is planned ability to add behaviours to models
on the fly would be cool too.
(Eg: you have 2 behaviours for sending emails one via mail other via
SMTP and depending on config settings the correct behaviour is
attached)
