I've used YUI for my stats project...and recently converted it over to using jQuery just to see what the difference was. ;) jQuery uses less memory than YUI and it took me, I dunno, maybe 45 minutes to replace all the YUI calls with their equivalents in jQuery. Nothing more than a programming exercise to me. All those libraries have their strengths and weaknesses but I think the big point here is being missed. It's not about what javascript library is the BEST, it's about what javascript library is SUPPORTED via built-in helpers by CakePHP. Prototype was the first of the new javascript libraries to gain lots of attention, so it's only natural that Cake created helpers for it. Now, I don't have the time to create helpers for jQuery or YUI, but somebody out there will have to do the work or well be arguing about this forever. I'm too busy figuring out how to properly do an interactive console for CakePHP... -- Chris Hartjes My motto for 2007: "Just build it, damnit!" rallyhat.com - digital photo scavenger hunt @TheBallpark - http://www.littlehart.net/attheballpark @TheKeyboard - http://www.littlehart.net/atthekeyboard --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
