I am someone who tries to keep himself udpated by constantly reading online
publications.

But when it comes to a larger explanation on a particular technology,
there's nothing like a book.

We've been hearing that b** about books disappearing in favor of online
publications, but guess what, like newspapers they didn't.

I agree with this to an extent. Sure, things move quickly, but books  
have a way of presenting information in a more polished, permanent  
way. I mean, if what Dr. X said was true, tech books wouldn't exist  
at all, which clearly isn't the case.
