Jeremy, I've been using 1.2 for a project, and I've had to ask a lot of questions, and do even more swimming through the 1.2 code. In the process though, I'm becoming very familiar with the internals of 1.2, so I've started to realize that it's a real advantage (despite the time investment). It's good that we have some people venturing into the 1.2 arena not only to test the code, but also so that when it nears release, we can help contribute by answering others' questions or helping with documentation.
Hang in there, and we'll answer questions whenever we can!
