I'm using PHP5, MySQL 5 and CakePHP 1.1.14.4797 with Mariano's phpGACL and also dAuth 0.3; no problems. The only thing I had to do was implement the connection_manager.php trunk fix to resolve a datasource error message. That doesn't sound like your issue, though...
