+1 for that and since I too having built and maintaining exactly 3
sites which get more than 10 million hits a day and up to 20 during
holiday season (yep two are very popular travel portals). I feel such
sites deserve frameworks of their own, but I desperately want to be
proven wrong

For the record all on three site we opted for a library based approach
instead of framework but the hope is some day there will enough time
and money to rewrite those in a bit more maintainable manner (sigh)
