I tried to reply to one of the earlier threads on this topic, but for
some reason, Google did not present me with a 'reply' link.

So, I've referenced them here, and am starting a new thread.
http://groups.google.com/group/cake-php/browse_thread/thread/8f76155c2195430/e8d5092ebee61d79?lnk=gst&q=gzip&rnum=1#e8d5092ebee61d79

I also get the blank page on Firefox with <?
ob_start("ob_gzhandler"); ?>.

I'd use the mod_gzip approach in .htaccess, but my host tells me
mod_gzip has interaction problems with phpSuExec, which is pretty
important for server security.

Would be nice if we could understand how to get the <?
ob_start("ob_gzhandler"); ?> working with cake.

I tried Felix's approach:
http://www.thinkingphp.org/2006/07/16/issues-with-output-buffering-in-cakephp/

but it didn't help.

Anyone understand what the cake issue is with output buffering? Has
anyone got <? ob_start("ob_gzhandler"); ?> working with cake?
