Well I noticed that in MySQL it is possible to set:

-> MySQL charset (general)
-> table collation
-> fields collation

+
character set database
character set connection
character set client

etc.

My DB for example has=> MySQL charset:  UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)

That why I asked the above question
