I have found thee sources of CakePHP conventions: The Bakery: http://bakery.cakephp.org/articles/view/cake-conventions
The Manual: http://manual.cakephp.org/appendix/conventions The Cake Sheet: http://cakephp.org/files/cakesheet.pdf All three are very useful resources but each seems incomplete in one way or another. I suspect the manual is the official list and find that it is missing information about database field naming conventions. Specifically: 1.) The convetion that fields named Created and Modified are updated correctly. 2.) The convention that fields named "title" or "name" are used as descriptions for foreign keys in add and edit action views. Who should be contacted with suggestions for the Manual? I suggest adding two sections, "Database Table Naming" and "Database Field Naming". The conventions for naming database tables could be moved from the model section and the conventions listed above could be added to the field naming section.
