I've starting my first cake site, yum cake! One of the first decisions I've wondering I've trying to make is to do my own auth system or use one of the many being actively developed. I was hoping for some feedback on what others have found what has worked.
For my decision I've been contemplating a few things: Pros of a Open Soure Auth: - maintained by the community (bug fixes) - many features I wouldn't usually spend time on but are avaible - less hours to develop and more time for other things Cons: - so many to choose from - most are in ealry development with many bugs - not specific to my project(s) - if I customize, it may not work with future releases - have to spend time learning others code I've been sort of held up on this for many reasons including a little procrastination. Anyways, I know there is quite a few people out there that have completed some fairly impressive apps and I wanted to know what you decided. I guess I need a little push in one direction as this is my first app built in a framework. I know everyone will have there own oppinion but I'm looking for oppinions of those that have completed apps in cake. If you could respond with a your oppinion and the app/site you did with cake that would extremely helpful to me and I'm sure many others.
