In some circumstances you just have to ignore your English
understanding of "belongs to" and "has one".  You of course think that
your ad "has one" model, and "has one" director, location, camera
etc.  But the association you want is the one called "belongsTo" -
where the ad identifies each of these foreign elements rather than the
other way around.  You always know your parent, but can't keep track
of your children :P

It's just a small semantics issue, really.  And in most cases these
words are appropriate, just not for all cases.
