It's done when it's done. Current 1.2.0 is still alpha, which means it isn't feature stable yet. For example, I know for sure that the Auth component is still under development. Look at open tickets in the trac. The core team has already announced that the next release will have beta status, which means: feature stable, bug fixing only. Several people have reported fine results with the 1.2 nightly builds, even on production sites. You might decide that running a nightly build is an acceptable risk to you.
