I've been thinking about this also. It would be nice to just drop in a plugin and instantly have a forum.
On my current site, we use vBulletin but it would be really cool if it could be done in Cake. This way other site features could be easily integrated into the forums and vice versa. Instead of having that separation. Like someone mentioned in another post, it would probably be easy to create the basic forum itself. The real work would come when building the backend for admins to moderate and manage the forums. I think there's already a project open for a Cake-based forum on CakeForge but still no release to date. Good luck writing your plugin, that would definitely be something that I'm sure a lot of people could use. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Cake PHP" group.
