yes, That's what I'm trying to do from the calendar controller:

$this->data['User']['email']=$contactemail

from within the calendar controller, but I get this error when I
execute it:
Notice: Undefined index: email

it's like the calendar controller recognizes the User data structure
but doesn't know that there is an email field to that structure, even
though it's defined in the db.
