I thought I would notify the community of a bug, fix and issues regarding automatic Cake scaffolding of views and editing scaffold views. This mostly pertains an incorrectly documented view- scaffolding pathing issue within this beta.
The documentation at http://tempdocs.cakephp.org/#TOC107815 is incorrect as to location search order of custom scaffold views. According to the code in this beta of /cake/libs/views/scaffold.php, only the following path searches are checked and used if found, in this order - Example: in the case action 'index' is called: /app/views/posts/scaffold.index.tmpl /app/views/scaffolds/index.tmpl /cake/libs/views/posts/scaffold.index.tmpl /cake/libs/views/scaffolds/index.tmpl * note the difference in 'scaffolds' if a directory or just 'scaffold' (singular) if prepended to template action view filename. If you hand edit line 504 of /cake/libs/views/scaffold.php, to read: return $path . $name . '.ctp'; you can now create .ctp extension views in the path formats noted above. ( i.e. .ctp extensions in customized scaffolding views is broken for this release. ) Also, admin_* action scaffolding is broken at the controller for this release.
