Hi Novice, I haven't used 1.2 for any production websites yet, but I have switched completely to 1.2 on my development computer. Depending on how complicated your application is, I wouldn't mind to use the beta, because the core functionality works really stable.

Search especially for the Configure, Auth and Acl components. Internationalization, pagination and caching is much easier and flexible with 1.2 and finally there are some really helpful behviors for models (also at the bakery you find some good code). > 2. The main differences between the versions can be found in the components and model behaviors. Porting is therefore only useful if you plan to use these components/behaviors. So what do you guys suggest? Depending on your type of application you can safely use 1.2beta. If you plan to use the new features heavily I would think twice, since some of these can be quite buggy. If you plan to expand your application later, I'd suggest to build a simple application in 1.2 and wait for a stable release to expand it. I hope this will help you further.
