Hi all, Searched everywhere I can for a solution to my problem ... just wondering if anyone else has encountered it:
Using the recent 1.2 beta (not the most recent nightly). I have built a standard simple CMS by modifying the built in pages_controller. I have a pages table to store page data. Built the CRUD interface to manage the pages and page data. Real simple ... done this heaps of times before with no issue ... seemed to work fine. Suddenly today for no reason I can see I try to access a page that selects the page data by page id and I get a blank screen in Firefox and an error in Safari (Safari can't open the page "http:// www.domain.com.au/privacy/" because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection, which sometimes occurs when the server is busy. You might be able to open the page later.) and an error in IE6 on windows (The page you are looking for is currently unavailable). The crazy thing is that selecting a different page using a different id works fine ... same controller, model, layout, view etc. Only change is the data being returned by the method that selects the right record from the database. Now here is the weird thing ... if I manually remove the cookie for the site I'm working on (gave it a unique name so i can find it easily) ... and then refresh the same page that was blank or that gave me an error ... it renders fine!! I can then navigate to other pages (as I can now see and click links to the other pages) they work fine. If I click a link that takes me back to the problem page it renders blank again or gives me an error. This odd behaviour does not happen when browsing other websites that I have noticed. It doesn't seem to happen on other Cake sites I have created (all pre 1.2 beta). I have cleared caches, checked permissions, flushed my local DNS and many other things that might be causing the problems based on my Google searches for the last 4 hours! Has anyone else come across this odd behaviour? Is there some known issues with cookie handling in 1.2 beta? It seems like a session/cookie issue but I can't be sure but it is odd considering the symptoms persist over multiple browsers/platforms (I use a mac to develop and test in VWware Fusion).
