You must have really difficult-to-work-with designers who can't be

If your boss measures productivity based on how much typing gets done,
then I think you need a new job.
Before you get all worked up, the purpose of Cake is to speed
*overall* development.  Taking one item in isolation (in this case the
open and closing of forms) is silly.
