Adding clarification that may help with a diagnosis.
When I request a controller/action that does not exist, cake handles
the request and displays my custom error layout. However, when any
redirect from within a controllor occurs, I then get a 404 that is not
handled by cake - standard browser 404 page is dispalyed. I assume
that this means index.php was never invoked on the request. Given
the .htaccess file I have shown above I do not understand why that
would be the case. Any ideas? What am I missing here?
