What I still don't understand, is all the people that make these huge plans that involve massive amounts of work, yet I don't see these people doing arguably way less work to write test cases and patches for bugs/enhancements. Is it because these people only want to develop if they're in total control rather than contributing to an existing project?
I mean, I look at myself working on the bakery checkout and think "OK, I can make this big plan for a huge project to create some kind of improved bakery+cookbook+api hybrid thing, or I can just step up and ask Nate/Gwoo if I can help fix/enhance the existing bakery, then maybe later on, cookbook, api, etc." Or, I can think "OK, I can grab the latest branch revision and fork an UberTimCake 2.0 changing all the stuff to what I want and let it consume my life, or I can spend arguably less time and contribute to an already existing killer project that needs resources and call up Nate and ask what tickets I can help close by writing a test case." Me no get it :P --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CakePHP" group.
