I know there was another post regarding $this->pageTitle to display the title of the page within home.thtml (which has no controller), although to be honest, i didn't feel that question was clearly answered, Which leads me to mine.
If I wanted to set a variable for the home page and home page only, where would I put that. As a matter of fact, come to think of it, how would I by default go to index controller www.example.com currently goes to home, and i have to manually enter www.example.com/index With Zend, it defaults to it, I was suprised Cake just generates a page. This is confusing to a PHP developer who's just starting with Cake. My years of PHP don't help in a situation like this. Yes, I've read the manual almost "cover to cover" today just for kicks and familiarity before i start. If i want to use variables in my home.thtml, do they have to be in the config or otherwise "global"?
