Thank you all for the great responses.

Basically the book was based on the 1.2 beta release. But just like
Dave, had to get in the changes for 1.2 RC1 at the last minute. :)

And yes I agree with Dave, finally the Cake community will have, not
one, but many books to choose from and use. The more choice, the
better for the community. I congratulate Dave on his efforts with his
book, now that I know what effort it takes to write a book ;)

Basically in our book we focused more on practical examples. It has
three sections, with total of 12 chapters.

The first section is an introduction to CakePHP where we discuss the
goodies of Cakephp, how to install it and then go on to make a quick
but complete web app.

The second section goes on to discuss the parts of Cakephp in details.
There are separate chapters that discusses all the details of using
models, controllers and views. There is also a chapter on baking.

The last section goes on to making a complete web application using
CakePHP. It discusses how to integrate custom layout, how to built
authentication, how to use the Ajax and the Javascript helper, and
many other aspects of CakePHP. Basically this section is very
practical oriented, with lots of code and their explanation.

So, in short, that is an overview of the book. If you are new to
Cakephp, or are interested to learn it, this book is a good book to
start in my opinion. :)

Thanks again :)
