They, the Mambo team, are developing everything in private. I am also interested in the time table of their plan and check their forum 1-2 times a week, but nothing I could find. XOOPS team is trying to borrow some resources from CakePHP to make its code base stronger. I had done some works to prove it's possible to develop XOOPS modules rapidly with CakePHP. I've tried several CMS projects based on CakePHP. GrenTea is more stable than others. But it's still far from competitive with other existing CMS projects. It's great to hear the information from you.
