I'm migrating my application right now too. I'm currently in the process of writing up an article on my experience. There are several articles out there. My experience has been anything but easy though, however my application is complex. Maybe I'll have it posted in a about a week and I'll post the URL here.
One of my biggest hurdles were the changes in the ACL. The way you create ARO's and ACO's seems to have completely changed. Then there's a bunch of stuff that has been deprecated. Here's a good list: http://cakebaker.42dh.com/2008/01/10/deprecated-stuff-in-cakephp-12/ I had a hard time finding the replacement for $html->tagValue(). $form->value seems to be it. Hope that helps.
