I have faced this situation before, and the best solution I have came with is to search only one model at a time.
I mean, let the user fill the search query and select a model to search in: Skatepark OR tags. I'm currently developing a site where the user can search in Companies OR News OR Places OR Classifieds. There is one, and only one model searched at a time. And the user can switch between one model or other by clicking tabs. BTW, are you really sure you need a tag search? Maybe something is wrong is you have so many tags you need to search inside. I prefer tag clouds instead - but that's only my point of view. Give some feedback if you implement a different solution.
