In the talk he gave in Japan, Gwoo said there will be a cake 1.2-RC4, before the 1.2 stable release.
He also said a cakePHP 1.3 (php4/5) release is planned with a whole lot of new features, before a cake 2.0 (php5 only). There are plans for cakePHP 3.0 to use features in PHP 5.3 (currently in alpha). He said they were planning a fuller plugin capability to make sharing among developers easier (wasn't clear in which release). I've also heard from Nate on a previous talk that there were plans for a tighter helper integration, and a move to support JQuery, among other things. It's nice to see so much forethought going into planning these releases that we all benefit from. Now that cake 1.2 is feature stable, and people are looking forward to the "beyond" phases, I was wondering if it might be possible for Gwoo (or someone on the cake team) to update the near term road map on Trac? Although we all have to realize nothing is cast in stone, I'm fairly certain many would be interested in hearing what the plans are. If there was some means for the community to offer feedback/ suggestions on future direction (accepting that the final decision must rest with the developers), that might be nice as well. Thanks to all on the cake team for their time and effort in giving us so much. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "CakePHP" group.
